So I had the privilege to photograph Doug Sloan who is running for Delegate this fall. Below is more information on Doug Sloan as well as some photo's from the session.
Douglass Sloan is a native Washingtonian and currently owns a public affairs consulting firm, Sloan Consulting, LLC, in Washington, D.C. Sloan Consulting provides consulting services to non-profit and community development corporations, real estate developers, and various businesses in the Washington Metropolitan area.
Before starting Sloan Consulting, Douglass worked for D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams as outreach coordinator in the Office of Community Affairs. As coordinator he planned community based events, served as a business liaison, and was project leader in the Mayor's efforts to erect a disaster relief fund for the families of the victims of the September 11th tragedy.
Prior to his stint in the Mayor's office Douglass worked as Community Relations Director for City Councilmember Harold Brazil and as Legislative Analyst for the Judiciary Committee on the City Council in Washington, D.C. Douglass drafted legislation, organized committee reports, and collaborated with industry representatives, community residents, and agency administrators on various legislative issues. Douglass also served as a liaison for Councilmember Brazil with various civic associations, advisory neighborhood commissions (ANC’s), and the District of Columbia School Board.
Prior to that, Douglass worked as a field coordinator for the successful inaugural congressional campaign of Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), served as co-campaign manager on an At Large City Council campaign in Washington, and worked on D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty’s Mayoral campaign and his inaugural campaign for city council. Douglass was also elected to public office in Washington as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Ward Four where he served as Vice-Chair for ANC 4A and as Chair of ANC 4B. Douglass is also the former vice-president of both the Ward Four Democrats and the D.C. Young Democrats. Douglass currently serves as Treasurer of ANC 4B.
Douglass graduated from St. John's College High School, and received a Bachelors Degree in Public Relations with a minor in Political Science from American University. Douglass is an active member of his community and is a member of Emory United Methodist Church in northwest Washington.
